OVERVIEW |
This one-day class will lead the student through the various stages |
to create a true American folk art collectable. Carve the classic |
shorebird, commonly referred to as a "stickbird" for its 'legs' |
made from a single length of hardwood dowel, and paint it like |
those from the turn of the century. Some carving experience is |
recommended, but not required. The beginner or novice carver is |
able to complete this project and produce a piece to be treasured. |
The more experienced carver will find this a fun project that's |
both interesting and not too demanding. |
