 OVERVIEW

This one-day class will lead the student through the various stages
to create a true American folk art collectable. Carve the classic
shorebird, commonly referred to as a "stickbird" for its 'legs'
made from a single length of hardwood dowel, and paint it like
those from the turn of the century. Some carving experience is
recommended, but not required. The beginner or novice carver is
able to complete this project and produce a piece to be treasured.
The more experienced carver will find this a fun project that's
both interesting and not too demanding.
